To be a teacher is to inspire. Great teachers ignite students' interests and inspire them to wonder and discover. Leslie Oles combines her natural talent for teaching with a long history of playing hockey at the elite levels to create a women’s hockey program like no other.
Her hockey career started with the Lakeshore Minor Hockey Association before continuing on to play for the McGill Martlets, Les Canadiennes, and for Bomo Thun in the Swiss Women’s A League. She has also competed with the provincial and national programs.
Leslie graduated from McGill University in Physical Education and Health in 2017 and continues to share this passion with her high school students.
She began coaching at a young age, working with Amey Doyle. She has also worked several years internationally with Ochsner Hockey Academy in Switzerland, and continues to work with the girls Lac St-Louis Warriors hockey program and Kuper Hockey.
Leslie is detail-oriented in her approach to breaking down the components of different skills. She expects a lot out of the athletes she works with but is positive by nature and is passionate about their success.
Becoming a teacher and coach means accepting the daily responsibility to help all students and athletes learn at a different pace, while pushing their comfort zone.
